Privacy information on the operation of cookies – Articles 13 and 122 of the Privacy Code
Below we inform you in a transparent manner about the operation of so-called cookies on this website (hereinafter, the ‘Site’). Various types of cookies can be distinguished according to their characteristics and use: Strictly necessary technical cookies. These cookies are indispensable for the proper functioning of a website and are used to manage various services related to the websites (such as a login or access to restricted features on the sites). The duration of cookies is strictly limited to the user session or they can be used for a longer period of time in order to remember user choices. The deactivation of strictly necessary cookies may affect the user experience on the website. Analytics and performance cookies. These cookies are used to anonymously collect and analyse website traffic and usage. Although they do not identify the user, these cookies make it possible, for example, to detect whether the same user logs on again at different times. They also make it possible to monitor the system and improve its performance and usability. These cookies can be disabled without any loss of functionality and will be dealt with in detail later. Profiling cookies (not operational on this Site). These are persistent cookies used to identify (anonymously and non-anonymously) user preferences and improve the browsing experience. For more information on these cookies that are not used by the Site, refer to the appropriate section at www.garanteprivacy.it/cookie
Purpose of processing and purposes of technical session cookies.
The cookies used on the Site are exclusively for the purpose of carrying out computer authentication or session monitoring and the storage of specific technical information concerning users accessing the servers of the Controller that operates the Site. In this respect, some operations on the Site may not be carried out without the use of cookies, which are therefore technically necessary in such cases. By way of example, access to any restricted areas of the Site and the activities that may be performed therein would be much more complex to carry out and less secure without the presence of cookies that enable the user to be identified and maintain his/her identification during the session. Pursuant to Article 122, paragraph 1 of the Privacy Code (in the applicable statement following the entry into force of (Italian) Legislative Decree 69/2012), technical cookies may be used even without the consent of the data subject. Amongst other things, the same European body that brings together all the data protection authorities of the various Member States (the so-called Article 29 Working Party) clarified in Opinion 4/2012 (WP194) entitled Cookie Consent Exemption that for following cookies it is not necessary to obtain the prior and informed consent of the user:
1) Cookies with data filled in by the user (session ID), lasting one session or persistent cookies limited to a few hours in some cases;
2) Authentication cookies for the purpose of authenticated services, lasting one session;
3) User-centric security cookies to detect authentication abuse, for a limited persistent duration;
4) Session cookies for multimedia content players (flash cookies), lasting one session;
5) Session cookies for load balancing, lasting one session;
6) Persistent cookies for customising the user interface, lasting one session (or slightly longer);
7) Cookies for content sharing via third-party social plug-ins, for logged-in members of a social network.
The Data Controller therefore informs that only the technical cookies (like those listed above) necessary to browse the Site are operational on the Site as they allow essential functions such as authentication, validation, management of a browsing session and fraud prevention and allow, for example, to identify whether the user has regularly accessed the areas of the site that require prior authentication or validation of the user and the management of sessions relating to the various services and applications, or the storage of data for access in secure mode or control and fraud prevention functions.
For maximum transparency, listed below are a series of technical cookies and cases of specific operation on the site:
-
Cookies installed on the user/contractor’s terminal directly (which will not be used for any further purposes);
Authentication cookies;
Cookies for multimedia content such as flash players that do not exceed the duration of the session;
Personalisation cookies (e.g. for selecting the browsing language, remembering IDs and full passwords by typing the first few characters, etc.);
Cookies used to statistically analyse visits to the site (so-called ‘analytics’ cookies), only if used for statistical purposes (and not for profiling or marketing purposes), and which collect information in aggregate form without the possibility of identifying the individual user. In these cases, since the legislation in force requires that for analytics cookies, the data subject must be provided with a clear and adequate indication of the simple ways to object to (opt-out of) their installation (including possible mechanisms for displaying the cookies in an anonymous form), we specify that it is possible to disable analytics cookies as follows: open your browser, select the settings menu, click Internet options, open the privacy tab and select the desired level of cookie blocking. If you wish to delete cookies already saved, simply open the security tab and delete the history by checking the delete cookies box.
Third-party cookies
When you visit a website, you may receive cookies from sites operated by other organisations (third parties) that may reside in Italy or abroad. The handling of the information collected by third parties is governed by the relevant policies to which reference is made. The Data Controller has no responsibility for the operation of third-party cookies on this Site.
As indicated by the Italian Data Protection Authority, this Site cannot control third-party cookies should it use third-party services for which the third parties are solely responsible. Furthermore, it is reminded that users can cancel and block the operation of cookies at any time by also using browser plugins and changing the settings as indicated in the various browser manuals. Mandatory or optional consent for the operation of cookies that do not pursue marketing purposes.
It is not compulsory to obtain consent to the operation of only technical cookies or third-party or analytical cookies assimilated to technical cookies. Their deactivation and/or the denial of their operation will result in the impossibility of properly browsing the Site and/or the impossibility of using the services, pages, functions or content available therein.
